This afternoon we went to San Juan de Dios
because they inject the penultimate dose
palivizumab to Ada and we have used to greet our angels homes in the NICU. After living
nearly 5 months, have become part of our family and we like to visit them regularly. We think it is the least we can do to show our (infinite) and we thank you and encourage them to continue with their work.
Working in a NICU should be harsh, despite the shift and rotation, it is inevitable that the team that serves newborns emotionally involved in their care. The stays are much longer and the suffering of children and parents is known. There is not always a happy ending, and when tragedy occurs, is devastating for everyone. So, I guess that has to be very satisfactory reunited children, Ada, despite having everything against them have been released, and they have gone quite well.
As expected, the flood and have been very much awake, she watched her children all smiles and distributed to everyone that dedicated attention. From the threshold
the door to the room where we waited and despair, I saw an early heat in a cradle located in the same place was Ada, and I considered it unbelievable that she has never been so small (and when he was a third born child of that !!!). I've seen so fragile, so helpless ... Every time I would talk to the NICU with all parents and reassure them, but the suffering is intimate by definition and no question. I remember those days as a nightmare with brief moments of lucidity. The time was stopped for us, yet we escaped on their hands, and I do not know where they went to stop those months ... When the children were born it was summer and it seemed impossible that the sun came out every day and that people could leave their homes and live life as if nothing. Friends and relatives knocking us but generally we had no desire to talk and we ended up appointing spokespersons. I hope we keep that anyone feels offended by rancor or have not received the attention and appreciation they deserved.
After the visit, we have the picnic in Ada (as always at the wrong time) in the lobby of the hospital and have bought the story and the
Centella Blue Bird, that many times we read the wall of the corridor and that explains the NICU with great tenderness and imagination the story of a premature ending coming home. The store in our book of memories, for when our small to grow. Few children have documented his life so! I hope that Ada is not ashamed of his scars and takes so are wounds of war that he won.
